Hundreds of people signed a local traders’ petition opposing plans by Tesco to open an Express store at the Castle Oak pub. The local traders and residents were concerned that the arrival of the new store will drive many of the local shops to close and bring an end to the shopping area in the Murch.

 

Llanmaes, Vale of Glamorgan

Sainsbury’s is planning to open a new 30,000 sq ft foodstore on the edge of the village.

The proposed site is on the northern side of the B4265, near the existing traffic lights at the junction with Llanmaes Road, on the left-hand side as drivers head into Llanmaes from Llantwit Major.
