Camp Hill, Northamptonshire

More than 2,200 people have signed a petition including the local MP to support a Camp Hill shopkeeper’s fight against a Tesco Express opening on his doorstep.

The Hill Shop, in Hunsbury Hill Road is threatened because of Tesco's plans to convert the old Ironstone pub into an Express store.

Tesco is yet to submit a formal planning application.

Corby, Northamptonshire

Traders and town centre landlord, Land Securities, objected to Tesco plans to build a new 11,070 sq m store on the St James industrial estate in Corby. They were concerned that the store, situated about 1km from the town centre on the site of former steelworks slag heaps, would have a negative impact on trade.
