In 2010 a planning application to convert a site on Newark Road into a Tesco Express store has been submitted to City of Lincoln Council. The application included a rear extension and a new ATM. Local business owners and residents were concerned about traffic, noise and the impact on existing businesses. 

North Somercotes, Grimsby

A shopkeeper says building a Co-Op supermarket would destroy his “traditional” village. The Co-Op are planning a new store in the village. The application is to build a “convenience store, together with associated plant, servicing facilities, car parking and alterations to vehicle/pedestrian access points” at the former Exchange Garage on Conisholme Road.
