Campaigning to curb supermarket power

Dunblane, Stirling

In February 2011 -developer Gladman Developments submitted revised plans for a supermarket and petrol station at Barbush in Dunblane.

August - Tesco submitted a planning application for a community swimming pool on the site of its current store as it wants to move to a new store close to the town centre on Perth Road. The proposal, a joint venture between Vico Property Group, King Holdings and Tesco, would see the new public swimming pool, up to 18 affordable housing units and a small local shop built on the site of the existing store at Springfield Terrace.

While a judicial review is currently being carried out on one aspect of the February appeal decision, Gladman have in the meantime submitted a full application for their retail development.
